Michael Keillor grew up in the Scottish Countryside where lost
hours were spent scribbling stories while his imagination ran wild. After
Law School, travelling and a handful of jobs, Michael picked up a camera,
and taught himself how to make films.
Michael scripted an early version of 'Grand Theft Auto' and then his first film screenplay was optioned by the BBC, while his second secured a commission from Channel 4. Michael continues to write while developing his craft directing acclaimed TV drama for broadcasters including BBC, ITV, Sky & Channel 4.
Michael was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA for 'Young James Herriot' in 2012 and delivered the series finale to Andrew Davies' 'Mr Selfridge'. In 2013 Michael shot Peter Moffat's Bafta winning legal drama 'Silk' and in 2014 completed Jed Mercurio's brutally realistic new medical drama 'Critical'.
Re-teaming Mercurio in 2015, Michael has just delivered the opening three episodes of the multi-award winning BBC 2 Anti-Corruption thriller 'Line of Duty'.
Michael continues to write and direct his own material and most recently completed “Liam + Lenka”, a twisted Highland
love story backed by the BFI and Warp Films, starring Iain De Caestecker and Katarina Cas.
